Iris Software has created numerous utilities and applications for over 30 years.

In the IBM midrange realm, Iris designed, programmed and marketed IBM S/36 utilities, including the program documentation tool DGEN/36 and the program editor Blue Iris. Blue Iris was also ported to the AIX-based RS/6000, as was IBM's programmer utility POP.

In the Windows arena, the company has created many applications, mostly using Visual Basic and Microsoft Access. Web programming projects are covered on the Web page.

The featured project at left was written several years ago under contract with Cascade Orthopedic Supply, Inc. The company had acquired a DOS-based system that simplified insurance billing for orthotics and prosthetics professionals. Iris converted the DOS application to Windows, and converted hundreds of that application's PC text files into a normalized Access database.

Current programming projects include two specialized accounting packages.
